Wax Ball This Thursday!

  |

This month we bring a summer of love resurrection back to the streets of Laguna Beach and the dimly lit rooms of The Marine Room Tavern. Mystic sounds await in this months installment of The Wax Ball, which happens to be the 9th edition of our monthly concert series. Headlining this month's Wax Ball is Plant Tribe, a heavy psych and deep blues rock experience that has yet to spread it's entrancing notes in Laguna. These guys are going to blow some minds this Thursday with a sound similar to Radio Moscow and Graveyard. In support of Plant Tribe we're stoked to announce that The Red Kapps will be opening the night up with their beach punk version of an early Thee Headcoats-ish sound. They're an awesome new and upcoming band that we're stoked to have play for us. About The Wax Ball: The Wax Ball is a monthly music showcase hosted at The Marine Room, Laguna's oldest bar [1930s] which happens to be owned by the town's former mayor. Laguna is world renowned for its artists and creativity, but the town is void of any good music. 80s night and reggae parties dominate the scene and the local surf community has been forced to head out of town for good surf rock, punk, blues, and garage. The Wax Ball happens once a month, on the second Thursday, and is bringing a refreshing and eager crowd to The Marine Room. There is literally nothing else happening in terms of music anywhere in or surrounding Laguna and Thalia Surf, Brixton, Raen Optics, and Deus Ex Machina aim to change that. Media coverage provided by LEAF. 21+ $5 Doors open at 9! The Marine Room - 214 Ocean Avenue Laguna Beach CA 92651 Join the Facebook Event Page and hastag #waxball on Twitter and Instagram!
