Hailing all the way from Oakdale, California Thalia Surf brings you The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit for this week's Wax Ball Concert!

Take two Americana singer-songwriters, an indie-rock veteran of a drummer, country-born bassist, and metal-bred pedal steel player, and what do you get: the rough-hewn yet driftwood-smooth; rebel-headed, but heart-of-gold sound of The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit. Likened to anything from Old Crow Medicine Show and The Avett Bros. to Asleep at the Wheel, Bob Wills and even Neil Young (depending on which live set you happen to catch) they most often defy categorization, usually settling for some hybrid of Americana, folk, rock, bluegrass, and that sweet, old country & western. Playing and selling out venues such as Slim’s, Great American Music Hall, and The Independent in SF, as well as playing festivals like, The Strawberry Music Festival, and Kate Wolf Music Festival, and touring through several states consistently over the last few years, their fan-base continues to grow. TGLTSO will invade The Marine Room Tavern this Thursday and you bet yer ass there'll be dancing and whiskey shots abound. Opening up for these boys from the north will be the live and rocking set by Angel and the Badman, a local group from Huntington Beach. Angel and the Badman was started by Alex Coulter (lead vocals/lead guitar) and Zach Mishler (lead vocals/rhythm guitar). They both come from a punk/hardcore background but have always had a deep appreciation for country music and its roots and are sure to bring one helluva rockin set to the old wooden walls of the MarBar.
