LoveMachine Surfboards from Ryan Lovelace

  |

We are so excited to have LoveMachine surfboards in or shop. Our art director has been singing the praises of Ryan Lovelace's designs for years. We have three of Ryan's most popular models in stock, the v.Bowls, Thick Lizzy, and FM. These boards offer distinct feelings when riding waves and serve different functions in a quiver.

The v.Bowls is not for everyone but for those who click with the v.Bowls - nothing else compares. Widepoint-back with a long front end - coupled with a unique foil that focuses all of the volume right between your feet results in an addictive looseness and ball-bearing roll off the back half of the board with parallel and foiled rails that are the stuff of legend. They enjoy a nice pockety wave and a loose, grooving hip + knee + ankle combo; pump the v.B like a shortboard and you’ll be sorry - climb aboard, loosen up, let it flow and you'll find it!

The ThickLizzy is a finely-foiled mini-glider. Less volume in the nose, tail and rails gives the ThickLizzy a more defined focal point mid-board like lots of other more specialized Lovelace designs, which keeps the design very lively, while maintaining enough volume spread to be stable for cruising. A great one board quiver, the ThickLizzy easily glides around in the small stuff, and can be pushed in solid surf if you want to take it there!

The FM is a little more aggressive than most Lovelace shapes, with an unmistakable ease and flow rolling onto rail, and powerful drive and projection when coming off. It posseses the forgiveness of a ThickLizzy, and the 3-Dimensional roll and feel of the v.Bowls, but put it into hyperdrive so to speak.

Designed for better waves and big carves, but definitely not limited to the best days. Size is your friend on the FM - they surf smaller than they measure and our 6'9" board is right in the sweet spot.

Just like the boards cut by Ryan's planer LoveMachine surfboards gift the surfer fresh feelings while riding familiar waves. These boards, like most boards these days, involve the computer in the process. Ryan has been at the forefront of pushing for transparency from board builders about how their boards are produced. There is a place for hand shapes and there is a place for shapes that utilize modern technologies. The unique characteristics of these boards is worth checking out in person, so come by the shop to see for yourself, or if you don't want to risk someone else buying the board before you, rush over to our website to lock it down now.
