Why bodysurfers use fins

Swim fins give you the kick power to catch and hold a wave while bodysurfing or bodyboarding, and they help you get into position faster with less effort. Shorter, stiffer fins suit punchy beach break, while a softer flex is easier on the legs. Add a pair of fin tethers so a wipeout does not cost you a fin.

Fit matters

A snug fin that does not slip or pinch is everything. Fins worn in cold water often fit with a thin sock or bootie, so account for that. Rinse in fresh water and dry in the shade to keep the rubber supple.
